Zine Talks is a series of 4 conversations about fanzines and alternative publishing, integrated into Zine City – Independent Publishing and Fanzine Gathering 2024.

These events were part of the cultural program of the 48th Aveiro Book Fair in 2024, responding to a segment of the population interested in alternative cultures within literature, visual poetry, visual arts, photography, design, and comics.

Zine Talks brought to the space of Mercado José Estêvão several prominent figures from the informal alternative publishing scene.

This series illustrates the current landscape of independent publishing in Portugal. The guests spoke about their projects as drivers of various creative sectors and the attitudes they represent, most of which serve as platforms for the production and dissemination of work by a wide range of authors — both emerging and established.
