João Fragoso e Castro, was born in Gaia, Portugal (1979). The love for drawing and visual arts has always been part of his life. After a period studying Civil Engineering, he decided to do something different, and created an online editorial project, producing Kozmik Magazine (2008-2010). This was the point that brought him to design studies. He graduated in Design at the University of Aveiro (2009-2012), and has a Master in Design in this Institution (2012-2015). Meanwhile, he collaborated with João Nunes for the dynamization of Living Lab Iris D’Arga (2011 & 2012). He participated in ModTíssimo – Porto Fashion Week, with a textile technological structure (2013). In the same year he designs the exhibition stand for the Portuguese representation at Eunique (Karlsruhe) of the project Água Musa – Aldeias do Xisto. Worked for Sisen International (2014) in interior decoration at the CCJ – Jeddah Cultural Centre (Saudi Arabia). Made a incursion into the Start-Ups world (2016-2017), working at Watgrid on graphic design, digital marketing and modular exhibition stands that travelled through WebSummit (Lisbon), Agroglobal (Santarem), Techdays (Aveiro), Vinitech-Sifel (Bordeaux) and Enomaq (Zaragoza). He worked as a graphic designer at Arcofriends (2017-2018), Arcohotel Group in association with Fagor Industrial, Mondragon Group, designing solutions for events such as Top Kitchen at EFTA (Aveiro), 1st AHRESP Food Collective Convention (Lisbon), and restaurants such as Hotel MS (Braga & Porto), Canastra do Fidalgo (Costa Nova), Jardim Hotel Santa Marinha (Gaia), IBIS Bolhão Centro Hotel (Porto), Paradise Beach (Cabo Verde), Hotel Verde Mar & SPA (São Miguel). Through various collaborations with IBIMED – Biomedicine Institute of the University of Aveiro, he developed identity projects for Biotery (2017), Cell Culture Facility (2018), Microsurgery Course (2018-2021), DRibeiro Laboratory (2019), LiProbe (2019), Covid Signaletic (2020), Ibimed Signaletic (2021), SparkLab Vieira (2021)… among others… He won a prize in October 2021 with a Videomapping for Prisma (2021). At the moment he develops his activity as a graphic designer with his own studio Delight Design (since 2019) and attends the PhD Program in Design at the University of Aveiro (since 2018), researching on “The Fruition of Place: influences and connections by multimedia installations”.
