From June 20 to July 7, 2024, Aveiro hosts Zine City, the 2nd Independent Fanzines and Publishing Meeting.

It will take place in the renovated Praça do Rossio and Mercado José Estêvão spaces, during the 48th Aveiro Book Fair.

This recurring event gives independent publishers a privileged platform to showcase their work, celebrating alternative visual culture where diversity and freedom are the guiding principles.

Authors from various Portuguese cities gather in Aveiro to share with the public the fruits of another year of editorial and artistic production.

At the Zine City stand, visitors will find diverse fanzines, artist books, and limited-edition publications in various formats, techniques, and printing styles.

Themes covered include prose, poetry, illustration, comics, photography, collage, and experimental graphic design.

This is the moment when underground creators bring their works into the light, provocatively challenging the mainstream publishing world.

These artistic publications circulate outside traditional commercial and distribution circuits, making this event the ideal opportunity to discover rare, unique editions that carry subversion, provocation, and restlessness as their creative signatures.
